Folacid Meta (calcium L-methylfolate) is ready for direct absorption by the body, even in the presence of an MTHFR mutation that disrupts the metabolism of ordinary folic acid. Folacid Meta contributes to higher folate levels in the body of the expectant mother. Low folate levels are a risk factor for the development of a neural tube defect in the foetus called spina bifida.
Folacid Meta provides the necessary daily dose of folic acid for balanced processes in the body, reduces levels of harmful homocysteine, which damages the cardiovascular and nervous systems, and aids the synthesis of neurotransmitters in the brain. [4], [5, [6]
